Theldeniya Base Hospital receives Navy developed ‘Medi-Mate’
May 30, 2020The fifth 'Medi-Mate', a remotely-controlled smart appliance, developed by Sri Lanka Navy (SLN), was handed over to the Theldeniya Base Hospital, yesterday (29).
Previously manufactured Medi-Mate robots were handed over to the state-run hospitals by SLN to support the Government's efforts to protect frontline healthcare workers from contracting the deadly coronavirus.
This novel appliance, which recently introduced to the healthcare sector, will make all physical contacts with the patients while delivering prescribed medicines.
It is also capable of disinfecting the patient prior to any physical contact with the machine.
