A total of 9,189 PCR tests conducted yesterday

Along with the total of 351 Coronavirus positives identified yesterday (25), the total number of confirmed cases in Sri Lanka has increased to 7,872, the Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry said.

The National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) indicated that, confirmed cases within the Minuwangoda cluster has increased to 4,400 and 1,041 out of them were staffers of the apparel industry.

A total of 8,421 persons are isolated in military-managed 73 quarantine centres as of today (26).

Along with 9,189 PCR tests conducted yesterday, the number of total PCR tests conducted in the country has recorded as 450,836, NOCPCO said

The count of Coronavirus deaths in the island has  risen to 16 with the death of a patient yesterday at the Colombo National Hospital, a statement of a Government Information Department confirmed.

The ill-fated patient had been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital following blood infection and had been transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) following complications observed, it also stated.

The victim, a 70-year-old resident in Colombo 02, was tested positive for Coronavirus.
