Troops clean herbal garden

A group of Sri Lanka Army soldiers attached to Security Forces Headquarters - West, responding to a request involved in a clean up programme to clean the 'Osu Uyana' (Herbal Garden) in Meegoda, on Thursday (19). Troops cleaned up this valuable herbal garden which had been unattended and overgrown with weed and other invasive plants.

According to Army media, authorities at the Meegoda Ayurvedic Hospital  who were maintaining the ‘Suwa Gewatta’, ‘Suwa Ketha’ and ‘Elhena Project’ in the premises had requested the  Army for assistance to clean up the Herbal Garden. Troops were able to clean the place within a day and hand it over to the hospital authorities.

Meanwhile, troops in Kilinochchi also made their contribution to several ‘Shramadana’ campaigns from 12-14 September in Mulankavil and Anavilanthankulam areas.

Troops together with civilians cleaned the Mulankavil Vinayagar pre-school premises and the Jesus Church at Anavilandankulam.
