Wheel chairs, clutches donated by Wijesinghe family for disabled war
Five wheel chairs, thirty arms clutches and twenty
double arms clutches were donated to the MOD Seva Vanitha Unit to be
distributed among disabled war heroes by Mr and Mrs. Wijesinghe Thursday
Mr. Subash Wijesinghe, presently employed as a Group
Director at Interaction Field Services in Afganistan along with his wife
Mrs. Subasha Wijesinghe made this donation in light of their daughters
1st birthday anniversary. The items were received by the Ministry of
Defence Seva Vanith Unit (SVU) Chairperson Mrs. Ioma Rajapaksa at the
ministry premises today.
Meanwhile, a wheelchair was handed over to Captain TS
Haloluwagedara of the 10th Gajaba Regiment (GR) who got disabled while
serving at the Wanni battlefront. Mr. and Mrs. Wijesinghe also donated
arm clutches to the military hospital, which were ceremonially received
by Captain Mathugama during the event.
The Seva Vanitha Unit Vice-chairperson Mrs. Indu
Rathnayake, Project Co-ordination Officer of the MOD Mr. Lesli Rupasighe
were also present at the occasion.
