SLASC soldier receives house from MOD Seva Vanitha Unit

Lance Corporal P.A. Rathnayake of the 1st Sri Lanka
Army Service Corps (1 SLASC), Thursday (20 Jan) received a house from
the Defence Ministry’s Seva Vanitha Unit.
Chairperson of the MOD Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Ioma
Rajapaksa ceremonially handed over the keys to L/C Rathnayake this
morning.
4th Engineering Services Regiment (4 ESR) of the Sri
Lanka Army has provided labour and technical assistance to complete the
construction of the house at War Hero Housing Scheme at Pelendagoda,
Panagoda.
The Seva vanitha Unit of the Ministry of Defence has
always been made much of war heroes who risked their life and limb for
the country so as to give other countrymen freedom without terror.
Vice-President of the Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Indu
Rathnayake, Security Forces Commander-South Maj. Gen. S.W.L. Dawulagala
RSP USP ndc, Commanding Officer 4 ESR Col. G.P.H. Chandrarathne were
also among the distinguished participants.
