A letter found in a pocket of a killed LTTE terrorist
provided enough substantive evidence of abductions perpetrated by the
terrorist outfit, in the tensed North and East areas.
On Sunday morning, security forces handed over four
bodies of LTTE terrorists, to the General hospital at Valaichchena,
Batticaloa following a foiled LTTE offensive at Meeyankulama during the
wee hours.
A letter found in a trouser pocket made it possible to
confirm the identity of the cadre as Chandrasekaran Vinokanthan (22).
The Valaichchena Police officials said the relatives of Chandrasekaran,
was contacted through four numbers noted in the letter.
The relatives confirmed the identity of the LTTE cadre
and said, he was abducted by the LTTE in November last year. Despite
continuous death threats from the LTTE associates, they managed to
logged
a complaint at the Kalavanchchikudi Police, on the abduction.
A personal appeal in the letter found revealed an
alarming story of the LTTEs' conspiracy perpetrated against youth in the
North and East. The letter further revealed that he has been given
military training by the LTTE and that his life was in danger. It is
believed that the youth was captured and held prisoner in an LTTE
"torture chamber", while attempting to flee the terrorist organization.
In fact he said he was living dangerously and if
something untoward happened to him his closest kit and kin should be
informed about his unfortunate end. He said he was a kidnapped man from
the Eastern Province by an armed gang of the LTTE who happened to take
him for a terrible war. He blamed the Tamil Tigers for giving him a
military training by force and involving him in a reluctant war.
More information with the original and the translated
version of the letter written by Vinokanthan, will follow.
