LTTE terrorist kill a Hindu Priest - Batticaloa (Updated)

priest of the Pulliar Hindu Temple at Sandiveli in Batticaloa was brutally
assassinated by a group of LTTE terrorists last night (Wednesday the 7th of
February).
"The terrorists forcibly had dragged Head Priest Chellaiah
Kurakkal Parameshvaram out of his residence and killed him by shooting", defence
sources said.
The family members of the victim told the police that three
armed men had come to their residence around 8:30 p.m. and forcibly taken him
out.
" They said that they were from the LTTE and came to make an
inquiry on Chelliaiah's garlanding of the President. He was having his dinner
when they took them", one family member said.
Body of Priest Chellaiah was found by the civilians while
lying in a ditch behind the government school at Sandiveli around 8:45 p.m.
Chief Priest Chellaiah, aged 61 was a father of three. He was
the Priest who welcomed President Mahinda Rajapaksa during visit to Vakarai on
3rd February 2006. According to the civilian sources , the slain priest had been
threatened by the LTTE at several times for he had actively cooperated with the
Security forces in helping the displaced people from Vakarai.
The LTTE though call themselves the "Sole representative" of
the Tamil community, has killed thousands of Tamil intellectuals, politicians,
social workers, and community leaders throughout its 25 year old bloody campaign.
The outfit that operates under fanatic illusion of its psychopathic leader V. Prabhakaran, has developed vicious mechanism to create a bunch of mentally
retarded killers who would never hesitate to kill anyone that offend its
leadership. During his visit to Vakarai, President
Mahinda Rajapakse called on the LTTE to lay down their arms and come to
talks. The terrorists rejected the offer of fresh negotiations, as they
were not well acquainted with the modern democratic politics.
