SL Army Troops gain complete control over the A-5 Main Road
Reports quoting the SL Army sources said that the
military troops in the east has gained complete control over the A-5
main Road in east today(11). According to the military sources the SL
Army troops, engaged in clearing potential terrorist threats while
restoring normalcy in the trouble-torn Eastern province, marked another
important phase on Thursday (11) afternoon after bringing the entire
Mahaoya-Chenkalady (A-5) main road under their control.
Meanwhile, reports also quoted that the southern
besieged areas including Karadiyanaru, Sinnapillumale, Aiththiyamale,
Thumpalanchole, Weligahakandiya, Kalkudah and all other adjoining
villages were freed from the LTTE terrorists, as a result of these
humanitarian operations in the past few weeks that saw many terrorists
killed and wounded in the offensives.
The total control of this vital A-5 road link will
accordingly be completely free from terrorist threats hereafter enabling
all civilians to move about freely for their day to-day activities as
was the practice before terrorists infiltrated those areas, SL Army
sources further added. |
