Whitehall 'whitewashes' LTTE terrorists again

By : Nimal LIYANAGE

The Queensland doctor Whitehall has once again used a professional medical journal, the Medical Journal of Australia 3/17 December to whitewash Sri Lanka's Tamil Tiger terrorists. Dr Whitehall's subtle propaganda message will only help terrorists to influence more Australians to fund the carnage the Tamil Tiger terrorists have created in Sri Lanka.

His three page 'True Story' in the MJA, of the seemingly innocent & highly humanitarian medical adventure in the north of Sri Lanka, is generously interspersed with the Tamil Tiger terrorist messages. Dr Whitehall had initially intended to return to Sri Lanka and work in the east coast of Sri Lanka controlled by the LTTE renegade Karuna, but had been later diverted to Kilinochchi by the 'hosting organisation' (another term for a Tamil Tiger terrorist front, in this instance).

The reason for the diversion is not clear, but could be deduced that the Tamil Tiger terrorists planned and hijacked the good doctor's services not to care for tsunami victims in the ease coast anymore, but to train the more deadly terrorists to continue their carnage. The humanitarian crisis in the east where the tsunami really struck with untold devastation remains to the same extent. However, politically and geographically, it is no more the 'humanitarian' concern of the LTTE terrorists of north Kilinochchi, but more the baby of the LTTE rebel Karuna and the isolated tsunami affected Muslim and Sinhala communities.

Along with many overseas doctors and medical personnel who volunteered to work in Sri Lanka in the post tsunami period, the humanitarian work and dedication of Dr Whitehall is deeply appreciated by Sri Lankans. However, his article shows that a clear line has to be drawn to discourage foreigners, who have not done the depth of research, and therefore, has little knowledge of the background, becoming mouthpieces for Tamil Tiger terrorists. Every foreigner who comes into contact with LTTE sympathisers, whether in Sri Lanka or overseas, is a potential recruit to the subtle propaganda of the Tamil Tiger terrorists.

Sri Lanka at the present time has bent backwards, to bring this tragic warring era to an end by entering a Norwegian sponsored peace process with the terrorists in 2002. Sri Lanka's sovereignty, the safety and welfare of its people had been at stake for the past 30 years due to the unending series of bloody atrocities committed by the Tamil Tiger terrorists. However, when it comes to the opportunity of the peace process, the only solution being placed endlessly by the Tamil Tigers on the peace table is the abdication of sovereignty by the Sri Lankan state, knowing well, such claims and intransigence will only end in furthering carnage the good doctor has seen for himself.

The LTTE aka the Tamil Tigers are a proscribed terrorist organisation in 32 countries. It is also classified by 100s more countries of the world as a terrorist organisation under their obligations to the UN Charter on Terrorism of 2000. The reason for this is no nation state of the world recognises the spurious claims of the Tamil Tigers and that they seek civilian bloodshed as means to their end.

In two of the photographs published in the AMJ two terrorists in camouflage fatigues, identified as 'medical students', are seen to provide medical assistance to 'civilians'. These are not mere medical students, but terrorists on the ready for battle to create mayhem and carnage in Sri Lanka. Further, Dr Whitehall would need to correctly caption the 'civilian wounded by artillery fire', as a 'terrorist combatant wearing a suicide capsule of cyanide around the neck'.

Dr Whitehall, please do continue your humanitarian work - that is most commendable, but kindly keep away from the propaganda aspect of terrorism. You will only help indoctrinate and create more misery, and trauma by encouraging suicide cadres, child soldiers, and fund raising for Tamil Tiger terrorism in Australia.

Any injured human being or animal needs our care and attention; and to that extent all Sri Lankans and the government have no qualms. Facilities to injured personnel are provided medical attention at its own expense at government public hospitals to all citizens free of charges.

Dr Whitehall wants to paint a very poor picture of the Sri Lanka government due alleged discrimination in medical assistance towards the terrorist held areas, but failed to state that it is the government of Sri Lanka that pays all the medical staffing, mostly manned by the kith and kin of dead terrorists, and maintains the facilities in whatever dilapidated condition 'the terrorists prefer to keep them'. They are the same facilities to which terrorists wounded in battle are taken for treatment.

Dr Whitehall has completed two stints in Sri Lanka and on his second visit taken care to avoid the tsunami humanitarian crisis in the eastern Sri Lanka. There could be reasons for moving to Kilinochchi for a higher call, such the east being the Tamil Tiger renegade Karuna territory, and also is better looked after now by the so despised Sri Lankan government facilities.

Dr Whitehall has now trained and educated himself of the special humanitarian concerns of terrorists. The tsunami needs have now gone out of the window. It will be wiser for Dr Whitehall now to offer his special training and experiences to the Al Q'aeda in Afghanistan or the Taliban, behind their lines. After all, it is they who know to blow up so that the bloodshed remains on the other side of the battlelines.

On arrival at these terrorist humanitarian centres of Al Q'aeda and the Taliban, Dr Whitehall would also find a glowing referral letter from the Tamil Tigers on the special terrorist medical training the Dr Whitehall had with Tamil Tigers, including the highly innovative blood extraction transfusions from 600 surrendered Sri Lankan Policeman prior to their mass shooting.
