12 innocent civilians killed, 31 wounded in LTTE bomb explosion - Ampara

Mrs. Ferial Ashraff and Minister H.M Fowzie visited the injured at the Ampara hospital following the LTTE bomb blast on 9th May-2008.

Twelve innocent civilians were killed while 31 reported  injured according to latest  reports in the bomb explosion triggered by LTTE terrorists   inside the "New City Cafe" hotel in Ampara town on Friday  evening, May 09.

The explosion took place around 5.45 p.m and the victims who received injuries were rushed to the Ampara hospital, sources said.

This is another cowardly attempt of the LTTE terrorists to disrupt the normalcy in the area as the government scheduled to head the provincial council election tomorrow to establish the democracy in the eastern province.

 

 

 

According to reports received 11 people were killed and over 25 injured.

 

'New City Cafe hotel' where the bomb was set off by LTTE on Friday( 9th May- 2008).

The injured been rushed to the general hospital at Ampara.

 

LTTE  continues its crimes against innocent civilians. The outfit is an internationally banned terrorist organisation fighting for a mono ethnic state since 1983.
