Viksund Asia donates speedboat for Coastguard
Viskund Asia Private Limited, a boat manufacturing
company affiliated to the Board of Investment has donated a brand new
speedboat to the Ministry of Defence Sri Lanka.
The donation was made to Secretary Defence Gotabaya
Rajapaksa by Managing Director of the company, Mr. Jostine Viksund, at
the Ministry premises this morning (Feb 20). According to the Ministry
officials, the speedboat model "Viksund 605" would be utilized for the
coastguard duties.
Viskund Asia (Pvt) Limited manufactures boats for
fishing and for water sports in Sri Lanka and exports to Scandinavian
and far eastern countries. Mr. Jositne speaking at the occasion said
that he and his staff had decided to donate their latest innovation to
the Ministry of Defence, as a tribute to the victorious armed forces.
The Secretary Defence expressed his gratitude to the company on behalf
of all the members of the armed forces

Palitha Fernando, Senior Staff Officer (MoD) , Major Nilantha Jayaweera
and Mrs. Geethani Bellanage of Visksund also participated for the
occasion.
