SVU donates 200 blankets among Armed Forces and Police Seva Vanitha Unit of the Ministry of Defence has distributed 200 blankets received as a donation from the Chairman of the Hilton hotel Colombo, among the Armed Forces and Police recently. Sri Lanka Police and Air Force received each 25 blankets from the Chairperson of the ministry's Seva Vanith Unit, Mrs Ioma Rajapaksa, in a charm function held at the ministry yesterday, 26 February. Earlier, on 19 February, 50 blankets were distributed to the Sri Lanka navy to be used for the war heroes being treated at the military hospital. SVU officials said that, 100 blankets were distributed to the Sri Lanka Army on 29th January. The donation was made by the Chairmen of the Hilton Hotel, Mr. Nawaz Rajabdeen, as a token of his gratitude to the war heroes. The donation was handed over to Mrs. Ioma Rajapaksa on the 27th of January.
