58 Div troops inflict heavy damages to terrorists; more LTTE military
items found
Troops of 58 div engaged in fierce battle with LTTE
terrorists right throughout the day March(28). As troops are advancing to
breach the LTTE built earth bunt, the last barrier built by the
terrorists to resist the advancing troops in North of Iranapalai
According to the military reports received from the
battle front, LTTE terrorists suffered considerable damages intercepting
LTTE communication channel Electronic warfare (EW) sources confirmed that
many number of terrorists were killed while more other received injuries
during the confrontation. 4 T-56 were uncovered by the troops in
the subsequent search operation conducted in the area.
Meanwhile troops of 58 Div uncovered more military
items left behind by the terrorists while conducting search and clear
operations in General area Puthukkudiyirippu.
