Ranaviru Fund donated Medical Equipment worth over Rs. 1.3 Million
to Military Hospital
[27-Apr-2009] "Ranaviru Fund", with the help of
contributions received from patriotic Sri Lankans around the world,
donated medical equipment worth over Rs 1.3 million to the Military
Hospital. These medical equipments, which included a Defibrillator, a
Pulse Oximeter and a Cardiac Patients Monitor, will be commissioned in
the new operating theater of the Military Hospital. All items were
formally handed over to the Director of Medical Corps, Brigadier
Sanjeewa Munasinghe and the Commanding Officer of the Military Hospital,
Colonel Kamal Sumanapala, at the Military Hospital on 27 April, 2009 by
Ms. Hiranya Malwatta, representative for Ranaviru Fund in Sri Lanka.
"Ranaviru Fund", entirely run by volunteers from
different parts of the world, was established in May 2008 in Scotland to
support disabled and wounded soldiers. On two previous occasions in 2008
they donated 323 Socket Gel Liners and 15 Talking Watches to the
Ranaviru Sevana at a cost of over Rs. 900,000.00. The volunteers of the
"Ranaviru Fund" have pledged to continue their efforts to raise funds to
provide more support in the future.
