Sri Lankns in Cyprus make donation for war heroes

Sri Lankan expatriates in Cyprus have donated ten Air mattresses and 27 wheel-chairs worth of 500,000 for the use valiant soldiers who disabled while serving in the battlefront.

The donation was officially handed over on 30th April to the Secretary Defence Mr Gotabaya Rajapakse and chairperson of Defence Ministry's Seva Vanitha Unit (SVU) Mrs Ioma Rajapakse by a Journalist, Ms. Durga Priyadharshani,s presenting the Sri Lankans living in Cyprus. The fund-raising for the donation was made by Mr. Piyal Sumedha Hadunge, Mr. Sarath Madurasinghe and Mr. Bandara Ekanayake.

The received items were subsequently handed over to the Commanding Officer of the Army Hospital Colonel Sumanapala by the Secretary Defence and chairperson of the SVU.
