Sri Lankan 'refugees' in Aceh claim to be LTTE
The 55 Sri Lankans stranded in Aceh waters on Thursday
(May 14) have claimed to be members of the internationally proscribed
terrorist outfit LTTE, fleeing in fear of post-war trial for war crimes
and crimes against humanity to seek political asylum in Australia.
According to Jakarta Globe, a local of the Alue Bilie
village in Darul Makmur subdistrict, Nagan Raya district, on Friday(15),
have confirmed that some of the 'refugees', have confessed that they
were LTTE combatants.
Indonesians security officials are conducting further
investigations. |
