New house donated to war hero
Heroic soldiers even at this crucial hour of the
humanitarian mission are valiantly engaged in combat. When the struggle
to defeat and eliminate terrorism has reached the decisive stage of
victory after three decades, war heroes are valiantly engaged in the
humanitarian mission, at the risk of their life and limb, with the lofty
objective of totally eliminating terrorism. The war heroes who become
disabled in combat are constantly cared for by the Seva vanitha Unit of
the Ministry of Defence. Accordingly a new house was donated to the war
hero Janaka Pushpa kumara by Seva Vanitha Unit of the Ministry of
Defence, at a ceremony chaired by Mrs. Ayoma Rajapakse, Hon Chairperson
in Talawattugedara, Polgahawela today(16).
The war hero Pushpa Kumara suffered disability while
in combat attached to the P 180 vessel in Nayaru sea, Mulathivu on 09
July 2008. Sri Lanka Telecom generously financed the construction of the
new house. The house was constructed by Navy personnel under the able
guidance of the Director, Civil Engineering Unit of the Sri Lanka Navy.
Navy Commander Vice Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda, Mrs.
Ashoka Karannagoda Hon. Chairperson of the Seva Vanitha Unit, the Sri
Lanka Navy, Mrs. Lisa de Silva, Chairperson Sri Lanka Telecom and Mrs.
Indu Rathnayaka Secretary, Seva Vanitha Unit of the Ministry of Defence
and several other officers attended this occasion.
