Passing out of NCC Eastern Band Platoons

The Eastern Band Assessment Camp was held recently at the National Cadet Corps Training Centre, Rantembe.A large number of Eastern band Platoons took part in this camp and Vidyartha Collage Kandy and Maliyadeva Balika Vidyalaya, Kurunegala won first place of boys and girls platoons respectively.

Major General Gamini Jayasunder RWP RSP, Director NCC was the Chief Guest of the passing out of this camp and presentation of awards was done by him among a large gathering of parents and Principals.

Establishment of cadet platoons in almost all the schools in the Island is a concept of H.E. the President Mahinda Rajapaksa. Under the patronage and instruction of Mr.Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Secretary Ministry of Defence ,Major General Gamini Jayasunder RWP RSP is making a great effort to implement this programme.

A well designed training curriculum is being carried out with the intention of moulding school going generation as well disciplined and junior leaders to take the responsibility in future Sri Lanka.
