The book distribution National ceremony for next year
was held in Jaffna yesterday (09). Education Minister Hon Susil
Premjayanth along with Hon Minister Anura Priyadarshanayapa, Hon
Minister Douglas Devananda, Hon Minister Nirmala Kothalavala and Hon
Deputy Minister M.Sachinthanandan were warmly welcomed by Jaffna
Security Force Commander Major General L.B.R Mark in Palali air port.
The book distribution National ceremony was held at
the Wembadi Girls High School in Jaffna. This National ceremony was
organized under the patronage of His Excellency the President Mahinda
Rajapaksa. Such a national ceremony was organized in the North after 30
years. The Ministers along with the officials sang the National anthem
while raising the National flag. The Ministers and the other officials
were welcomed by a beautiful cultural dance. The dance was organized by
the Ramanadan Girls College students. After the presentation
Commissioner General for Educational Publications Mr. M.N.J.
Pushpakumara addressed the gathering while welcoming all people to this
national ceremony.
Various beautiful cultural events were organized by
the student of Jaffna Central College, Jaffna Public College, Jaffna
Hindu College, Wembadi Girls High School Jaffna, Sirimavo Bandaranayaka
College Colombo, Kotte Ananda Shasralaya, Kiridiwela Centrel College,
Pushpadana College Kandy and Mahamaya Girls College Kandy. Also
teachers, students, parents and many other officials related to the
education field in Jaffna District were present at this colorful event.
Meanwhile the text books were distributed by the Hon
Minister Susil Premjayantha to the student of Wembadi Girls High School
Jaffna while other Ministers distributed the text books to other
students in Jaffna district. Also 60000 Exercise books were distributed
to the student of Jaffna District by the Hon Minister Anura
Priyadarshanayapa.
