I will never allow anyone to betray hard earned victory - President

His Excellency Mahinda Rajapaksa , President and Commander in Chief of the Armed forces yesterday (Jan 10) assured the war heroes that their hard earned victories would never be betrayed.

"I will not allow anyone to betray the hard earned war victory and will never allow any person to give life to terrorism"

He further stated that all Sri Lankans are proud of the gallantry and the professionalism of their war heroes. The president made this remarks when he met armed forces and police personnel at the Palali Air Base, yesterday (Jan 10).

President Rajapaksa made his first official visit to Jaffna peninsula after winning the war on terror this morning. He was welcomed by the Armed Forces Chiefs and Police Chief at the Palaly Air Base. He received a guard of honour and paid his tribute to the war heroes sacrificed their lives, at the monument built at the airbase.

Following his meeting with the soldiers President Rajapaksa paid homage to Naga Viahara in the Nagadeepa and also participated in religious observances at Nallur Kandasamy Kovil.

All regional politicians representing Eastern people pledged their fullest support to President Rajapaksa in the forthcoming elections.
