De-mining operations continuing in liberated areas

De-mining teams of army and INGOs are continuing their operations to clear the liberated areas in order to provide maximum security for the civilians to be resettled under the government resettlement programs underway.

De-mining team of FSD conducting de-mining operations in Periyathampanai area uncovered 11 anti-personnel mines, 01 RPG bombs and 05 60mm mortar bombs yesterday, 10 March.

Meanwhile, team of MAG de-mining team uncovered 19 anti-personnel mines while engaged in de-mining activities in general area Sinnapnadivirichchan on the same day, 10 March.

Separately, de-mining team of MMIPE deployed in Palampiddi uncovered 04 anti-personnel mines, the report received from Army HQ said.
