Construction of new house for war hero begins Commencing construction of new house for war hero, the foundation stone was laid in a  function held under the patronage of  Chairperson of Defence Ministry's Seva Vanitha Unit (SVU) Mrs Ioma Rajapaksa yesterday, 25 March. The house is being constructed at Pannipitiya area for Sergeant J.H.A.S Jayasekara of Sri Lanka Artillery and his family. Vice president of Defence Ministry's Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Indu Rathnayake, Director of Defence School, Maj General Ranaweera, the Principle of Defence School, Commanding Officer of 4 ESR, Lt. Colonel Chandrarathna and Mrs Kumari Zoysa were also present at the occasion. The Defence Ministry's Seva Vanith Unit has launched many projects in the past four years providing houses, scholarship programs and various donations for war heroes and their families to uplift the living standards.
