Peace filled every heart with new hopes - Nayake Thera

Every mother's hope during the past 30 years was to protect their children. Today with the dawning of peace their hearts are filled with new hopes. Now they can expect a developed country filled with spiritual values, Ven. Vinayacharya Panditha Galle Sasanarathana Nayake Thera said.

The Nayake Thera was speaking at a ceremony organized to felicitate the Nayake Thera on being granted the Kalutara, Thotamuna Dviteeya Adikarana Sanganayaka title by the Amarapura Sri Saddammawasa Chapter. It was held at the Temple Trees on Tuesday.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa paid his homage to the Ven Thera on this occasion.

Ven Sasanarathana Nayaka Thera commenting on President Mahinda Rajapaksa's service to the nation stated that death fear has disappeared from the country that plagued it for nearly thirty years.

It was the responsibility of all to unite to defeat all the inimical forces both local and foreign that affect the freedom of the country.

Observing that President Mahinda Rajapaksa pays attention not only to the physical development but also spiritual development in addition to ensuring territorial integrity, harmony and prosperity, Ven. Sasanarathana Nayaka Thera said, President Rajapaksa should be the leader of our country for a large number of years.

The Chief Incumbent of the Kotte Sri Naga Viharaya Ven. Maduluwawe Sobitha Thera and several Ministers and Members of Parliament were present.
