More AP mines uncovered in clearing operations

Security forces personnel continuing search and clearing operations in areas of Mullaittivu, Kilinochchi and Mannar districts uncovered more Anti-Personnel (AP) mines laid by LTTE terrorists.

138 AP miners were uncovered from general area Mahilankulam while 2 AP mines uncovered from Omanthai in clearing operations conducted yesterday, 30th July.

Meanwhile, troops attached to 61 Division uncovered 64 AP mines in clearing operations conducted in Periyapandivirchchan, Palampiddi and Malwaryankaddaiadampan areas on the same day.

Separately, troops attached to Mannar area HQ conducted clearing operations in Karukandal, Kollankulam and Areanarikkulam areas and uncovered 18 AP mines, military report received from the army HQ said.
