Army Shooters bring home haul of gold from IMSSU competition in
Sri Lanka Army shooters showcasing an impressive
performance had won 10 gold medals at the recently concluded
International Metallic Silhouette Shooting Union (IMSSU) tournament in
the Czech Republic. They also managed to win 2 silver and 11 bronze
medals at the competition. The tournament was held at the North Bohemia
Shooting Range from 18th to 29th (July 2017).
According to Army media, the eight Army marksmen who
competed for the honours under a numbers of categories including small
bore open sight light rifle, small bore open sight silhouette rifle,
small bore rifle open sight aggregate, small bore all sight and small
bore rifle categories managed bring home a haul of 23 medals including
10 gold medals.
Sri Lanka's record win in foreign soil can be
attributed to the extensive and careful training given by the Sri Lanka
Army Small Arms Association (SLASAA) prior to the event.
