Army troops donate blood

Sri Lanka Army troops in the East organized a blood donation programme in Trincomalee, recently. The initiative was taken by the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) in response to a request made by the blood bank of the Trincomalee Hospital.

The programme, held at the 22 Division Headquarters saw more than 150 Army personnel donate much needed blood to the hospital's blood bank. Troops regularly organize such programmes to assist the civilian populace in the country especially in the North and East.

Meanwhile troops under the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) organized a book donation campaign in coordination with the Independent Television Network (ITN) at the Roshan Mahanama Primary School in Weherathenna in Vavuniya on Saturday (04th November). During the ceremony, needy families in the locality were also provided with gift packs including dry rations and other essential.
