[October 11 2018]

The 'Colombo Air Symposium 2018', organized by the Sri Lanka Air Force will be held at the Eagles' Lakeside Banquet and Convention Hall in Attidiya, Colombo on 18 and 19 of this month (October). This year, the symposium will be held under the theme 'Air Strategy in Substantiating the Geo-Strategic Importance of Sri Lanka'.

This was revealed at a press briefing chaired by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy at the Air Force headquarters in Colombo on Wednesday (10 October). The Air Force will be conducting the fourth segment of this annual conference this year.

The 'Colombo Air Symposium' provides a gateway to unite local and international military and other intellectuals into a common platform to discuss and examine in depth the conformable air strategy in substantiating the Geo-strategic importance of an island nation with special emphasis to Sri Lanka.

The symposium will bring together military leaders, technical experts, global think tanks and diplomats from around the world to share knowledge, experience and proficiency under a common theme.

The 3rd symposium held last year (2017) under the theme, 'Air Power in Addressing Asymmetric Threats', saw a large attendance including foreign delegates from 17 countries.
