'Let's Stand Together for the Country' - fourth successful day in

Under the guidance of President Maithripala Sirisena
the fifth phase of the 'Rata Wenuwen Ekata Sitimu' (Let's Stand Together
for the Country) programme got underway in Monaragala on July 1 in an
attempt to provide swift and sustainable solutions for issues faced by
the people in rural areas.
The program will be conducted until July 6 covering a
total of 479000 people from 319 Grama Niladhari Divisions in
Badalkumbura, Bibile, Buttala, Katharagama, Madulla Medagama, Monaragala,
Sevanagala, Siyambalanduwa, Thanamalvila, Wellawaya Divisional
Secretariats of Monaragala District.
Under the Presidential Secretariat's guidance, a
number of programs in relation to National Drug Prevention Program,
Protect Children, Smart Sri Lanka, National Food Production Program,
Dengue Prevention, Prevention of Kidney and Non-Communicable Disease,
Environmental Protection, Empowerment of Elderly People and Special
Needs will be held this week.
In addition to that 'Tell the President' (Janaadipathita
Kiyanna) would also be held in several venues during the entire week
through which people would be able to directly present their problems to

to be a very successful day with participation of a huge crowd.
A special consulting program for the elderly community
was conducted today morning at the Moragala Division Secretariat Office
while certain students were handed scholarships. Further water pumps and
plants were also distributed among the people at the Wellwaya
Presidential Secretariat Office.
A walk campaign for Drug Prevention was also conducted
in Bibila with the participation of massive number of students Wellassa
Monaragala stands out among the 11 Districts that have
been identified to be vulnerable for kidney diseases as over 1459 people
reported to be suffering kidney diseases in this District. So, various
programs in relation to kidney disease prevention were conducted in
Siyambalanduwa, Thanamalvila, Buttala and Wellawaya.
