Navy assists to bring ashore critically-ill fisherman

Sri Lanka Navy troops rendered assistance to bring ashore a critically-ill fisherman for treatment on Saturday (06th January). According to Navy media, the fisherman had been onboard the multi-day fishing trawler "Yasa Isuru I', which had left the Beruwela fishery harbour for fishing on 31st December. Into the journey he had suddenly developed cardiac pain and was in need of medical care.

Up on being alerted by the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Navy has dispatched its Fast Attack Craft, P 432 to the location of the fishing trawler, 48 nautical miles off the Galle Light House. The patient was rushed to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital upon being brought to the Galle Harbour for treatment.
