Navy in North support flood relief campaign
Sri Lanka Navy troops in Jaffna have donated a large
stock of relief aid intended to be distributed among the flood victims.
According to Navy media, the stock of goods was handed over to the
Governor of the Northern Province, Hon. Reginald Cooray on Thursday
The relief aid includes 1000 packs of dry rations and
495 water bottles of 5 liters. The consignment was donated to the
"North-South Brotherhood" programme, initiated by the Governor to assist
the people affected by recent floods. This community welfare initiative
of the Navy had been carried out under the leadership of the Commander
of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne and the guidance of the
Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jayantha De Silva.
