Navy ships return home after Indian visit

[April 12 2017]

Upon successfully completing a goodwill and training visit to India, two ships of the Sri Lanka Navy, SLNS 'Samudura' and SLNS 'Suranimila' returned home on Tuesday (11th April).

The two ships set sail to India on 04th (April) and reached the Port of Cochin on the 06th (April). According to Navy media sources the visit was mainly aimed at providing essential sea passage experience for officer under trainees. A group of 43 Midshipmen had also joined the visit.

During their stay in India, the crew of the two ships took part in a series of naval exercises and visited a number of training schools.
