Navy's Annual Logistics Conference at Trincomalee

The Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA), the prestigious
seat of Naval training of the Sri Lanka Navy held its annual Logistics
Conference on Friday (25). The 'Logistics Conference 2018 - Trincomalee'
was conducted for the third consecutive year under the theme 'Sri Lanka
as a Financial Centre: Opportunities and Challenges'.
Gracing event as the guest of honour, the Governor of
the Central bank of Sri Lanka, Dr. Indrajit Coomaraswamy made the
keynote address. The inaugural speech was made by the Commander of the
Navy, Vice Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe.
Conference sessions saw thematic discussions on topics
such as 'Government Policies in Financial Discipline Application and
Control as Financial Centre', 'Foreign Direct Investments and Effect of
Economic Growth to Become a Financial Centre in the South Asian Region'
and Collaboration Between Sri Lanka with Military Aspects to Becoming a
Financial Centre in the Region' being held by the participants . The
concluding remarks of the Logistics Conference was made by Professor
Senior Naval officers, scholars, university, state and
corporate sector representatives, and logistics officers from the
Bangladesh, Indian, and Pakistan Navies were also present at the
