New Police Unit to curb religious disturbances

The Sri Lanka Police has formed a special operations unit to deal with complaints related to religious related incidents. The special unit has been set up after an escalation in such incidents was seen in recent times.

The Unit is operated around-the-clock and complaints regarding disturbances or troubles involving religious groups that might cause inter religious disharmony can be informed to this Unit via the 24-hour hotlines - 0113 182 904, 0113 188 75 and fax number: 0112 423 944.
