New Secretary appointed to the Ministry of Defence

[April 29 2019]

Former Commander of the Army, General S H S Kottegoda (Rtd) WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc has been appointed as the new Secretary to the Ministry of Defence by President Maithripala Sirisena, today (29 April 2019).

The new Secretary received his letter of appointment from the President at the Presidential Secretariat, this afternoon.

Subsequently, he visited the Ministry of Defence and officially assumed duties as the new Defence Secretary.

Additional Secretaries, Chief of Defence Staff, Tri Forces Commanders and senior Ministry officials were also present at the occasion.
