No evidence of torture on Tamil returnees - Burt
The British Foreign and Commonwealth Office
Minister for South Asia, Alistair Burt who visited Sri Lanka last
week, said there was no evidence of any torture on Tamil returnees
returning to the country.
Speaking to the BBC following his two-day visit to
Sri Lanka, Burt said the British authorities probe every claim of
torture and if there is any evidence they will be produced to the
courts when considering asylum requests.
