P 465 brings ashore critically ill fisherman
Navy troops in the East rendered assistance to bring
ashore a critically ill fisherman on Monday (29th January).
According to Navy media, Navy has dispatched the Fast
Attack Craft P 465 from its Eastern Naval Command for the mission, upon
being informed of the emergency by the Police. The Navy craft was able
to reach the fishing trawler in the deep sea about 8.5 nautical miles away
from the Foul Point.
The fisherman, who had fallen ill after a sudden heart
attack was transfered to the Naval craft and was safely brought ashore
to the Trincomalee harbour. Upon reaching land the patient was rushed to
the District General Hospital for treatment.
