Pakistan Naval Ship 'Zulfiquar' arrives with flood relief materials
Pakistan Naval Ship (PNS) 'Zulfiquar' arrived at the
port of Colombo on Tuesday (30th May 2017) to assist ongoing relief
operations in the island with relief goods and teams, states navy media.
The ship had brought essential supplies such as dry ration, bottles
of drinking water and medicine. In addition three medical teams have
also arrived with the ship. PNS 'Zulfiquar' is commanded by Captain Faisal Javeed
and the crew consists of 46 officers and 241 sailors.
The ship had previously made a goodwill
visit to Colombo on 4th May and has made the second visit to the
country with relief aid assist and strengthen the longstanding ties between
the two countries and navies.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Ravi Karunanayake,
Acting High Commissioner of Pakistan to Sri Lanka, H.E. Dr. Sarfraz
Ahmed Khan Sipra, Commander Western Naval Area, officers from the Naval
Headquarters were present to receive the ship.
