Secretary Defence Graces "Ranaviru Real Star"

Secretary Defence and Urban Development Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa participated yesterday's evening (17th January) session of "Ranaviru Real Star III" reality programme held at Sri Lanka Air Force Base in Rathmalana.

"Ranaviru Real Star", the world's premier military reality programme which introduced as a platform of showcasing the vocal talents of the military personnel, has seen its highest popularity among the general public within a short span. On its way, the third successful Mission in Sri Lanka ever, the show has twisted and placed war heroes into new arena enticing a wider audience both in the country and abroad.

36 entrants comprised of the members of tri forces were selected from the preliminary rounds and 18 out of them were staged during the yesterday's contest.

This reality show was sponsored by Rupavahini Corporation together with Dialog Telecom. The panel of judges comprised of three prominent artists; Mr. Jakson Anthony, Mr. Edward Jayakody and Miss. Yasoda Wimaladharma added an elegant to the judgments.

The Director General of the Media Centre for National Security Mr. Laksman Hulugalle, Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasooriya, Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage, Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama senior military officials, spectators and a large number of military personnel were also present at the occasion.
