Singapore Premier accorded Guard of Honour by Sri Lanka Army

A Guard of Honour was presented to the visiting Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong by Sri Lanka Army troops, today (23rd Tuesday, January). The Guard of Honour was held at the Presidential Secretariat this morning during the formal state reception hosted by President Maithripala Sirisena to the Singapore Premier who arrived to the island on an invitation extended by the President.

According to Army media, the Guard of Honour consisted of seventy two soldiers and two Officers of the Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) Regiment. A 19- gun salute was also accorded as part of the state honours.

Dignitaries including Hon Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Cabinet Ministers, diplomats, commander of the Army and senior state officials were also present at the occasion.
