Sri Lanka Navy successfully completes Naval Exercise AMAN -17

The closing ceremony of the Naval Exercise AMAN -17 was held under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Hon. Nawaz Sharif in Karachi, Pakistan on Tuesday (14th February 2017). Sri Lanka was one of the 36 countries that took part in the International Naval Exercise which commenced on 10th February, said the navy media.

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne also attended the closing ceremony.

The Naval Exercise AMAN -17 was organized for the fifth time by the Pakistan Navy in view of to receive and share operational experience in maritime safety.

The exercise was held under the theme of 'Strategic Outlook in the Indian Ocean Region- 2030 and Beyond- Evolving Challenges and Strategies'. Sri Lanka Navy's Offshore Patrol Vessel SLNS Samudura participated for the exercise.
