State Minister commend tri forces and police for their dedication in flood relief operations

State Minister of Defence Hon. Ruwan Wijewardene highly commended the hard work and dedication of tri forces and police, who are currently engaged in rescue and relief operations island wide. He made these remarks after completing his progress review visit on relief operations in Bulathsinghala and Millaniya in Kalutara District and Neluwa and Nagoda in Galle District on Monday (29th May).

Further speaking State Minister Wijewardene stated that the Army, Navy, Air Force and Police personnel have shed their blood and sweat to restore the livelihood of affect people. He also felicitated the humanitarian service rendered by tri forces and police during disaster situations.

During his visit to Neluwa with Minister of Lands and Parliamentary Reforms Hon. Gayantha Karunatileka, State Minister Wijewardene inspected the progress of ongoing relief efforts by military personnel and coordinated the relief efforts of the victims.

The State Minister also met the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Wayamba Development and Cultural Affairs Hon. Palitha Kumara Thewarapperuma during his visit to Bulathsinghala in Kalutara District and made necessary assistances for relief operations after discussions.

Furthermore, State Minister Wijewardene together with Deputy Minister of Power and Renewable Energy Hon. Ajith P. Perera inspected the progress of relief operations in Milladeniya, Kalutara. State Minister attended a special meeting held at the Divisional Secretariat office, Millaniya and also donated essential items for the flood victims.
