Troops reach out to Northern students

More than 400 G.C.E (O/L) students in Puthukkudiyirippu, Mullaithivu were benefitted from an educational seminar organized by the Sri Lanka Army. The seminar was held at the Puthukkudiyirippu Madya Maha Vidyalaya on Saturday (11th November).

Conducted by a panel of experienced instructors, the seminar was sponsored by the 68 Division Headquarters under Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT). Participating students were also provided with tutorials and other printed literature free of charge. In addition they were provided with lunch and refreshments by the troops who had also provided them transport facilities.

This social welfare programme was taken, with the support of All Ranks of the 68 Division, with a view to uplift the educational standards of the local community. A similar programe was recently conducted by troops in Kilinochchi.

Meanwhile, troops of the 65 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) organized a ceremony to donate school accessories and sports items to 312 students at Thewampiddi Government Tamil School on Friday (10th November). The donation was made with financial assistance provided by officials of Sri Lanka Insurance.

The stock of donated items worth Rs 3000,000.00 includes schooling needs and sports equipment.
