Troops rush to fight Wildfire
A group of Sri
Lanka Army troops rushed to
contain a wildfire in
Thiruwanaketiya, Muththettuwa in
the Ratnapura District on Sunday
(25th February). Troops rushed
to the location in response to a
request for help to contain the
fast spreading bushfire.
According to Army media, the fire had broken out
around noon on Sunday. Spreading past, It had affected about 10 acres by
the time troops managed to reach the location and begin work.
Acting fast troops took immediate measures to stop the
spared of the wildfire and bring it under control.
Swift measures taken by the troops of the 58 Division
under the Security Force Headquarters (SFHQ) - West prevented the fire
from spreading and causing more damage.
