VIP Protection Training for Maldives Police Officers

The Passing Out ceremony of Maldives Police Officers who followed a special training course on VIP protection at Special Task Force (STF) was held at Kaluthara STF training school recently (22 April).

Commanding Officer of the police STF, Deputy Inspector General RWMC Ranawaka participated at the ceremony as the Chief Guest.

Speaking at the event DIG Ranawaka expressed that "it is a grate pleasure, that these officers have completed the VIP protection course very successfully and we also have produced such trained foreign officers in previous occasions". "I believe that these officers will reap the benefits of the training in future". He also said.

Further speaking he stated that "this would further strengthen the ties between Maldives Police service and Sri Lanka Police STF"

The composition of the six-week long training was 30 foreign officers including 2 female officers.

Assistant Commissioner of Police in Maldives Mr. Ahamed Saudi, International coordinator of the Maldives Police Commissioner Ms. Juna Lathif, Senior Officers of STF were also present.
