Wanni children receive educational assistance

A group of children learning in the primary classes of a remote school in Vavuniya was benefited by a social welfare initiative carried out by the Sri Lanka Army, recently. According to Army media, troops of Security Force Headquarters-Wanni had presented a stock of school bags, shoes and other accessories to a group of students in the Primary section of V/Etambagaskada Vidyalaya in Vavuniya on Monday (26 November).

The donation, sponsored by a private firm benefitted 71 deserving students of the school. Troops regularly contribute their assistance and support to uplift the living standards of the backward communities. Educational assistance in the form of donation of books and other accessories to school children, building and renovating classrooms and other school buildings, conducting educational seminars targeting children sitting public exams and facilitating educational scholarships are carried out by the troops encompassing most parts of the country.
