SLN Ship Samudura to assist cyclone hit fishing trawlers

Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) Ship Samudura has sailed en route for Indonesian sea area today (21) to assist distressed multi-day fishing trawlers those have washed-away to Indonesian seas along with the recent cyclone hit.

SLN says, over 30 fishing trawlers, those have washed-away due to the severe impact of cyclone Amphan, are now returning to the country.

The deployed SLN ship, an ‘Advanced off Shore Petrol Vessel’, is expected to assist and direct them to land while fueling them to reach their respective coastal destinations around the country.
