A total of 410 Covid-19 recoveries in last 24 hours

Following the confirmation of 473 Coronavirus positives during the last 24 hours, the number of cases in the country increased to 22,500 the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) said.

Except one, all the cases were locally identified and 138 of them are from Colombo District. Further, 63 from Gampaha District and 35 from Rathnapura District.

The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 19,431 and out of them  12,793 have left hospitals following complete recovery.

NOCPCO also confirmed that a total of 13,286 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (27) and  the day's total recoveries from the virus during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (28) stands at 410.

Meanwhile, 44 persons arrived in the country today morning from Doha Qatar and 53 persons from India will be directed for quarantining.

A total of 5,088 persons are quarantining under 47 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.

The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 107 along with eight Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
