Arrested Arms and Ammunitions
January 04, 2021The Sri Lanka (SL) Army, Navy, Air Force, Police and STF were on alert on illegal weapons and ammunition during the past week. Operations in search of illegal firearms were underway in keeping with the government's vision to curb underworld activities.
Accordingly, 14 locally manufactured weapons, 11 illegally smuggled weapons, 08 weapon accessories, 10 bombs and 169 rounds have been nabbed and arrested a total of 23 persons.
Compared to the last week, underworld activities and the recovered illegal weapons and accessories are less.
