Sri Lanka has been able to bring the spread of COVID -19 under control in general, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa said.
A total of 42,101 people and over 10,860 vehicles have been arrested for curfew violations since March 20 till today(April 30), the Police Media Division stated.
The government has announced that curfew that will be imposed in 21 districts today at 8.00 p.m will continue until 5.00 a.m. May 04.
A total of 3,609 individuals are still under quarantine in 32 tri-services managed quarantine centers.
Defence Secretary Maj.Gen. (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne requested the public not to stigmatise Tri-Forces personnel, especially the sailors of the Sri Lanka Navy, and their families who have been infected while fighting to contain the spread of coronavirus virus.
