Fairfirst Insurance Ltd. donates Rs. 10 m to ‘Fight for Covid-19 Fund’

Fairfirst Insurance, which is a part of the global Fairfax Group, has donated Rs. 10 million, collected by its employees, to the ‘Fight for COVID-19 Fund, which was set up to support Government measures to contain the spread of new coronavirus.

Fairfirst Insurance Limited, which is a leading property and casualty insurer, re-insurer and investment manager, headquartered in Toronto, Canada, is among the top general insurance companies in Sri Lanka, today.

Fairfirst has volunteered to distribute coveralls and face masks for the safety of the healthcare staff and forces.

Company’s Managing Director and CEO Dr. Sanjeev Jha and company representatives handed over the Rs. 10 million cheque to Defence Secretary Maj.Gen. (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne,  at the Ministry.

Dr. Jha conveyed gratitude for the immense commitment and dedication of the front-line forces rendered towards fighting to control the COVID-19 pandemic.

He said during this critical juncture each person had a responsibility to support to control the situation.

“Business is noble when we use our forces for such needs. At Fairfirst, we always believe in protecting and supporting the well-being of the community. We are confident together and with empathy to each other, we will overcome this shared threat,” he said.

Fairfirst Insurance representatives Dhilan Mitchell and Sanjay Siriwardena and President Harimaga Kanishka De Silva were also participated at the event.
